    You preordered Through the Ages: New Leaders and Wonders to pick up at Essen Spiel 2019. We’re sorry to tell you that, despite our best efforts, we are unable to sell the expansion to you at Essen Spiel after all. Due to an error at the printer side, the card backs for the expansion are a different shade than the card backs for the base game. This is very unfortunate, especially with military cards that should remain secret.

    We are as unhappy as you, as we worked hard to bring the expansion in the best possible quality to you. If you come by our booth Hall 1, F-145, we would like to provide you with a free redeem code for the digital version of the Through the Ages: New Leaders and Wonders expansion.

    Normally, there would be a chance to fix such thing, but this was not the first production problem with these cards. There was an error with the linen finish first, which the factory managed to fix. But it delayed everything, so when we received the cards now, there was no chance to fix them before the Essen show. Our time reserve was simply not enough to deal with two printing errors.

    We’ve ordered a new printing of the cards – after Essen Spiel, we will have more information about when gamers will be able to get their hands on this expansion. We will send you an email when the game is available to help you find a way to get it to your table as soon as possible.

    Mich würde mal interessieren, ob es in solchen Fällen (vorab vertraglich vereinbarte) Kompensation oder Vertragstrafen gibt, die über eine normale Nachbesserung (d.h. Neudruck) hinausgehen, da der entgangene Gewinn in einem solchen Fall vermutlich kein Pappenstil sein wird.

    nein. In der Theorie kann man das als Minifirma zwar in seine Verträge schreiben, in der Praxis wird man nicht den langen Atem haben, das durchzusetzen, zumal es hier fast immer um internationales Recht geht. Finde erstmal ne Kanzlei, die das kann. Ich vermute,dass EGG in China produzieren lässt. Beim aktuellen Handelsstreit zwuschen USA und China hat das gleich noch ne extra Würze.

    Nö, bei Brettspielen ist das auch in Deutschland ziemlich unüblich. Wenn man so etwas mit einer Fabrik vereinbaren will, muss man einen deutlich höheren Produktionspreis bezahlen.

    Vertragsstrafen gibt es nur, wenn man auch vertraglich was festzurrt mit Liefertermin usw. Wird in der Regel aber nicht gemacht ... und hier ist ja auch nicht direkt ersichtlich, ob die Druckerei den Fehler gemacht hat. Normal gibt der Kunde den Proof doch frei bei solchen Sachen wo Farben usw wichtig sind ...
